Proactively advance mission of Bon Secours Mercy Health Law Firm to: Serve our Ministry by applying our diverse talents and perspectives to provide mission-based, strategic guidance to further collective stewardship of the ministry’s resources.
Serves as the general counsel for the Paducah Market. Acts as lead counsel for one or more subject matter areas of expertise on behalf of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
General understanding of healthcare related statutes and their regulations, interpretations, court cases, and regulatory and other governmental analysis (including the Stark Law, Fraud and Abuse / Anti Kickback Prohibitions, Tax Exemption Principals and Intermediate Sanctions).

Ability to represent Market/Entity and the Home Office Departments while simultaneously protecting the interests of Bon Secours Mercy Health and the System as a whole; willingness to take on new projects and commitments; and willingness to take on ownership of subject matter area of expertise for the system.
- Required Education: Juris Doctorate Degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school.
- Required Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Kentucky, Ohio or another state
- Minimum Experience:
Four or more years of healthcare law and extensive experience in a subject matter area of expertise, including working knowledge in areas of subject matter expertise.
Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to organize and maintain files, manage diverse assignments and projects, exercise judgment and decision making in prioritization of multiple deadlines.
Ability to adhere to deadlines and work on multiple, simultaneous assignments. Ability to address multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Dynamic, self-starter with strong negotiating skills.
Strong business acumen and understanding of healthcare environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
Ability to relate well with others at various levels and ability to educate and train others.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
