Job Summary:

Under the direction of the RN, the BHT II provides direct patient care and participates in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.  Assists licensed nursing staff by performing technical skills and assisting patients with activities of daily living on the unit.  Ability to execute all tasks contained in BHT I job description. Facilitate and/or co-facilitate psych-educational/recreational groups.

Minimum Education:

Required Minimum Education: Vocational/technical Degree

Preferred education: 4 year/Bachelors Degree Specialty: Psychology, Counseling, no experience required if BA

*Combination of post-secondary education will be considered in lieu of degree

Licensure/ Certification:

Required: Licensed or certified as required by appropriate state or national licensing board if applicable. Basic Life Support Certification required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum years and type of Experience: 1 year of clinical experience preferred

Other knowledge, skills and abilities: De-Escalation training within 90 days of hire.

Other knowledge, skills and abilities preferred: Group facilitation experience is a plus.
