Certified medical assistants with specialized credentials provide hands-on patient care under the direction of a provider, supporting clinical assessments, documenting patient needs, assisting with care planning within their scope of practice.

Depending on location certification is not always required to start, some jobs require you to obtain your certification within 12 months of your medical assistant placement. A high school or GED is required. See job description for requirements.
